🌸 Listen to Grace by Daisy Drewes 💜
For me writing music is all about pouring my heart out. It’s something that I do in the wee hours when I’m called to just be and rest and dream and discover on my own.
Around that golden hour of early morning, my heart is full and I’m not afraid to jot down exactly what I’m thinking. Sure there are times that I wake with anxiety, but mostly this is the space I find the Spirit dwelling in me and showing me right where I need to be. Peace.
Jesus loves us so much that he died for us, gave us his life on the cross so that we can live forever eternally. All that he asks is that we believe in him, trust in him, and choose to ask forgiveness for the wrong that we do… he forgives, he sets free, and he carries us eternally.
In those wee hours, I find myself. Busy with family life, and precious loving little ones, my days are full. But when I choose to listen and am invited to share some morning peace with Jesus I am usually gifted with a song. A song of peace and hope and resilience. Or a comfort to the pain.
Writing music is different for everyone, for me it takes about 10 minutes to write it down and it’s just all there. But that’s not the case for everyone, and I have written songs that have changed over the years, as well as ones that have taken hours or even months to write and rewrite.
Whatever your style, writing is a freedom, it’s a life song and we are all given the ability both spiritually and intrinsically to be able to express how we are feeling, what we are thinking or seeing or dreaming, and God has given us this ability to creators (or rather sharers) of what he has created within us and through us. We are vessels of beauty and change and unfolding dreams…
Pass the baton, share the word within you, and begin to write… whatever your heart feels inside of you, share it with yourself on paper or sound. You can make something beautiful because you are made with beauty and love by the One who knows you and calls you by name.
You are loved. Daisy 💜🌸🦋
P.S. Reach out if you or someone you know would like to discuss songwriting further, have an interview together, or just feel free to ask any questions. I am here to help, though I don’t have all the answers, sometimes it helps to talk to someone, and your message of hope and healing and love deserves to be heard. 💜
